Discord voice chat now available on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One

Discord voice chat is now available on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One for all users, Microsoft has announced. A new update is currently rolling out that will allow all Xbox users to connect to Discord voice channels and calls.

Announced over on Xbox Wire, Microsoft says you will now be able to chat with anyone on Discord using either voice channels or group calls directly from your Xbox console. Discord Voice on Xbox should make it easier to communicate in and play cross-platform games with your friends who are on different platforms.

Xbox adds Discord Voice

“With this update, you can now chat with anyone on Discord via voice channels or group calls directly from your console, making it easy to connect with friends across mobile, Xbox, and PC,” Microsoft’s Eric Voreis says. “This means that you will be able to see who is in the call and speaking while you are playing on your console. You’ll also be able to adjust the sound and switch between Discord Voice and Xbox game chat while you play all your favorite games.”

To start using Discord voice chat on your Xbox, you’ll first need to head to the Discord mobile app and link your Discord account to Xbox. Microsoft says you will need to link your Discord account again, even if you’ve linked it before. Once that’s done, you can then join a Discord voice channel or call and transfer it to your console.
