Brittany Matthews wasn’t happy with a low hit on her husband Patrick Mahomes in the Chiefs’ 27-24 win against the Chargers on “Thursday Night Football.”
Matthews, who is a known defender of Mahomes and the Chiefs on Twitter, questioned the Joey Bosa hit when officials called offensive holding on the play. The official call was that Chiefs offensive tackle Andrew Wylie threw Chargers pass rusher Joey Bosa into Mahomes.
Mahomes limped around for a few nervous seconds before remaining in the game.
Matthews was at the game at Arrowhead Stadium with 18-month-old daughter Sterling. The two were rocking designer “mommy and me” Jacquemus bags to surprise the quarterback at Arrowhead Stadium.
“Matching bags so cute 💛❤️,” Jackson Mahomes, the younger brother of Patrick, wrote in the comments of Matthews’ post, which included photos of the mother-daughter duo.
Jackson also shared a video of himself getting ready for the game, and showed off his fit, which included white pants and a red button-up shirt.
Jackson did not share any content that showed him doing TikTok dances on the field, a trend that has angered fans at past games.
Thursday’s game in Week 2 of the Mahomes’ sixth NFL season and marked Sterling’s first time on the field visiting her dad at work, Matthews shared on Instagram.
“Ster girl stayed up past her bedtime to surprise her Daddy!!” Matthews, who is pregnant with the couple’s second child and co-owns the Kansas City Current, wrote in her caption.
“We stayed up past bedtime to surprise dada on the field today & tell him Goodluck!!! “He thought she wasn’t coming,” Matthews wrote over a separate photo on her Instagram story that showed her carrying Sterling to the field.
Matthews is a gameday staple to see Mahomes in action, especially for home games.
On Sunday, the fitness trainer cradled her baby bump in a yellow dress while on the field at State Farm Stadium, where the Chiefs blew out the Cardinals 44-21 in Week 1. Matthews also wore a white collared shirt with Mahomes’ name and No 15 on the front.
The Chiefs head to Indianapolis to face the Colts in Week 3.
