Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt’s brahmastra is showing an excellent trend at the box office on Saturday despite a bumper opening day. According to early estimates, brahmastra has collected in the range of Rs. 41.25 to 43.25 crores on the second day taking the two-day total collection to Rs. 79 crores. The movie has shown a jump of around 20 percent on the second day, and this is a positive sign for the long run.

Ideally, films opening at record levels with a negative talk stay flat on Saturday and brahmastra has shown a jump which indicates that the talk isn’t negative among the audience. The single screens are also steady on the second day and the platform is now set for them to explode on Sunday. brahmastra will record its biggest day since the release tomorrow and this would take its all-India opening weekend to Rs. 120+ crore nett, which is a record for Hindi films.

On Saturday, the Hindi version collected around Rs. 37.50 crores, and the two-day Hindi total of brahmastra stands at Rs. 69.50 crore. The opening weekend for the Hindi version will be around Rs. 110 crores, which is simply phenomenal for a non-holiday release. The Telugu version, as expected, has dropped from Rs. 4 crores nett to Rs. 3 crores nett on Saturday, but the Tamil version has jumped by almost 50 percent.

The 3D version is recording a dream run whereas IMAX 3D has clocked the best occupancy for an Indian film to date. The mass belts are also catching up now with occupancy for 2D rising by the day. If families come out in big numbers on Sunday, brahmastra has an outside chance to near the Rs. 50 crore mark (all versions) and this would be an indication about the film sticking through with the audience in the long run.
