Early Black Friday sales have caused multiple games from PlayStation Studios across PS5 and PS4 to re-enter the UK’s physical sales charts. The Last of Us: Part II jumped up to 18th following offers that brought its price below £10, and then Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales enjoyed a 292 per cent sales spike to take it to 26th. Gran Turismo 7 was similar in 30th, and then The Last of Us: Part I shot up to 38th.
With the juggernaut that is the Pokémon series releasing two new entries last week, though, God of War Ragnarok was always going to struggle to hold on to the top spot. It actually slips to fourth as Pokémon Violet and Pokémon Scarlet are listed separately, and then FIFA 23 sold better in third. Pokémon has now recorded the biggest physical launch of the year in the UK. God of War Ragnarok’s sales dropped by 73 per cent compared to its opening week, which is standard procedure for new releases.
The rest of the top 10 essentially sees everyone else make room for Pokémon, which trends on social media for its absurd glitches and bugs instead of gameplay or story. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 slips to fifth, Horizon Forbidden West retains seventh, and Sonic Frontiers falls to tenth.
