PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium games for November 2022

Written by admin

PlayStation has announced the games coming to the PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium services for November 2022.

From November 15, players on the mid and top tier subscriptions will get access over 20 more games. That’s a lot to get through, so let’s jump right in.

PS Plus Extra is the mid tier that gives players access to a large library of PS4 and PS5 games to download to their consoles. Similarly to Xbox Game Pass, these games cycle in and out, so it’s worth keeping an eye on your favourites.

Leading the pack is the entire Kingdom Hearts series on PS4. That’s KH 1.5 + 2.5 HD ReMIX (four games and two movies), KH HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue (a full game, a short game and another movie), Kingdom Hearts III (seemingly sans the DLC) and KH: Melody of Memory (a rhythm action game).

Sticking with RPGs, Bethesda’s giant The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is joining the service with both the PS4 and PS5 versions. Similarly, ’90s platformer remake Oddworld: Soulstorm, tactical shooter Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six: Siege, space combat title Chorus, and time manipulation puzzler The Gardens are all joining Extra with both PS4 and PS5 options.

Other games joining this month are The Division 2, Ghost Recon: Breakpoint, Earth Defense Force games Iron Rain and World Brothers, Onee Chanbara Origin, and the hugely acclaimed What Remains of Edith Finch. These are all PS4 games, but they will all work fine on PS5 (Edith Finch does a native PS5 version, but it doesn’t seem like this version is included).

PS Plus Premium, the top tier, adds hundreds more games to subscribers’ libraries, through remasters, remakes, ports, stream-only PS3 games, and emulated PS1, PSP and PS2 games, while adding streaming options for games across all the systems.

Unfortunately, it’s another disappointing month where no further emulated games are coming to the service, despite previous leaks. The only games being added to the Premium line-up are streamed PS3 games that were removed from the service earlier this year during the rebrand.

Those games are the original Ratchet & Clank trilogy, spin-off Ratchet: Deadlocked (aka Ratchet: Gladiator) and fourth entry Tools of Destruction.

It’s clear that Extra is getting the most attention from Sony — by their own logic, the Kingdom Hearts and Skyrim remasters and Oddworld remake should be in Premium tier-only — but at only £16 more a year for its expanded catalogue and streaming, Premium is still good value. It’s easy, however, to see why fans are so disappointed by the lack of ‘new’ PS1 and PSP classics, especially when they were so heavily advertised when the tiers were introduced.

It’s good to note that on the same day as these titles join, subscribers will lose access to the following games: the Mafia trilogy, GreedFall, Ride 4 and MXGP 2021.

You can subscribe to all three tiers of PlayStation Plus through the PS Store. The cheapest way is to buy store credit through retailers like ShopTo.
