Google’s Pixel 7 Pro was only released a few weeks ago, but it’s already the subject of one of the best Black Friday smartphone deals we’ve seen so far.
iD Mobile is offering the 128GB Pixel 7 Pro with unlimited calls/texts and 100GB of monthly data for just £36/mth plus a small upfront cost of £9.
It’s a 24-month contract, meaning you’ll have paid a total of £873 by the end of the two-year deal. When you consider the handset costs £849 to buy without a SIM card, you’re effectively paying £1/mth for a contract with a data package most people won’t even come close to using up.
Fortunately, if you don’t manage to use all that data, you can roll it over to the following month, as is customary with all of iD Mobile’s plans. In addition to data rollover, iD Mobile also offers inclusive data roaming in 50 destinations, including Spain, Germany and Greece.
We were blown away by the Pixel 7 Pro when we reviewed it last month, describing it as “another flagship stunner from Google” while awarding it a five-star rating and our coveted Best Buy badge. It delivers all the high-end features you could want from a modern smartphone wrapped up in a high-quality design, all for a very reasonable price that remains unchanged from last year’s Pixel 6 Pro.
Its 6.7in OLED display is undoubtedly one of its strongest features. It has a QHD+ resolution (3,120 x 1,440), 120Hz refresh rate and colour performance is outstanding. We measured sRGB colour gamut coverage at over 93% and those colours were reproduced with stunning accuracy – average deltaE errors clocked in at below 1, so there’s no discernible difference between how you’ll see colours displayed and how they should look.
While the Pixel 7 Pro’s Tensor G2 processor can’t quite match the performance of the mighty A16 Bionic chip in the iPhone 14 Pro, it’s no slouch, and there’s a decent uptick in gaming performance when compared to the Pixel 6 Pro as well.
But the ace up the Pixel 7 Pro’s sleeve is its camera setup. It adds a 48MP 5x telephoto sensor to the 50MP main and 12MP ultrawide lens found on the regular Pixel 7, and the results are breathtaking. The 7 Pro has the biggest zoom on a Pixel yet and practically every image taken with the phone looks fantastic.
Head on over to our Pixel 7 Pro review for a more detailed discussion about what makes it so good, but suffice to say, it’s worth every penny of the £873 you’ll be paying if you decide to take advantage of iD Mobile’s cracking Black Friday phone deal.
