The topic of aim assist in Call of Duty games has taken the Modern Warfare 2 community by storm and given the hype, JGOD has revealed the broken aim assist setting that controller players need to use.
Regardless of which side of the debate you’re on, there’s no denying that aim assist in Modern Warfare 2 is a major factor in gunfights, especially with rotational aim assist that further simplifies the aiming burden on controller players.
Now, JGOD has revealed an overpowered aim assist setting that players will want to make note of in Modern Warfare 2.
As the saying goes, if you can’t beat them, join them. Aim assist is clearly not going anywhere in Modern Warfare 2 and you might as well use the proper settings to bring out the feature’s full potential.
JGOD has tested each of the four aim assist types and provided feedback on which one you should be using. The rotational aim assist feature that makes your weapon lock on to enemies with very little left-stick movement, is only active within the Default and Black Ops aim assist types.
Black Ops and Default are the most overpowered in Modern Warfare 2 because they offer both slow-down aim assist from the right-stick and rotational aim assist from the left-stick.
Best Aim Assist Setting to use in Modern Warfare 2
JGOD sought to compare how long aim assist kicked in and allowed your crosshair to track a player in both Blacks Ops and Default. After an in-depth test, JGOD concluded that Black Ops slightly surpasses Default as the best aim assist type in Modern Warfare 2 because it remains active for a longer period.
“It came out that like the Black Ops one was like 1 to 3 percent stronger or at least it carried the crosshairs a little bit further, which in my opinion meant that it was a little bit stronger.”
While JGOD recommends switching to Black Ops, he explains that the minor difference is well within the margin of error when attempting to measure something like aim assist in Modern Warfare 2.
You can change your aim assist type to Black Ops, by going into the Controller section of your settings menu in Modern Warfare 2.
