Overwatch 2 Ramattra Abilities

Overwatch 2 developers have not completely confirmed what abilities Ramattra will have. What we know so far from character art, leaked in-game screenshots, and Ramattra’s reveal at the Overwatch League Grand Finals 2022 with Overwatch 2 developers Alec Dawson and Dion Rogers, is that Ramattra will be the first hero in Overwatch 2 who can transform at will.

Here are some Ramattra abilities we can expect to see from Overwatch 2’s newest tank hero, based on Watchpoint’s interview with developers Alec Dawson and Dion Rogers at the worldwide reveal of Ramattra during the Overwatch League Grand Finals 2022:

  • In Ramattra’s Omnic form, he wields a Staff with primary fire that can do long to mid-range “poke damage”.
  • While in Omnic form, Ramattra can summon a Barrier Shield to protect his teammates.
  • Ramattra’s Nemesis form transforms him from his smaller Omnic form into a bigger and tougher Omnic.
  • In Ramattra’s Nemesis form, he dishes out a Punch melee ability, potentially capable of piercing through enemy team’s shields.

Nemesis form is an ability Rammatra can toggle. It is unknown whether Nemesis form will have a cooldown timer and how long the ability’s cooldown might last.

In another interview with Alec Dawson, the Overwatch 2 developer confirmed that Ramattra’s Ultimate also transforms him into his Nemesis form and is a part of the Ultimate. It is unconfirmed at this time what else might be included in Ramattra’s Ultimate.

In a leaked screenshot shared by Reddit user SeeOurTea, it appears that Ramattra may have some type of “Vortex” ability while in Omnic form. This ability is not yet confirmed.

Overwatch 2 Ramattra Origin Story

Ramattra is the leader of Null Sector, an “Omnic liberation” group intent on freeing Omnics from oppression by violent means whenever necessary.

Built for combat on the front lines of the Omnic Crisis, Ramattra once sought a more peaceful path with the Shambali, a secret order of Omnic monks led by well-known peace activist Mondatta. It was while communing with the Shambali that Ramattra grew close to Zenyatta, another Shambali monk studying under Mondatta.

Despite his time with the Shambali, witnessing the relentless oppression against Omnics wore on Ramattra. Deciding that a peaceful future for Omnics could only be achieved through forceful means, he became the leader of Null Sector, a militant group of Omnics who declared war on mankind.

Ramattra made a deal with Doomfist, combining Null Sector’s might with Talon.
