Playground teases new Forza Horizon 5 DLC expansion

During the most recent Forza Monthly livestream, Playground Grounds shared an update on Forza Horizon 5’s next big DLC expansion, revealing it will release early in 2023.

Playground Games recently lifted the bonnet on Forza Horizon 5 Series 14, which, as teased earlier in the year, is themed around YouTube channel Donut Media. However, in a brief update, Playground also spoke more about a new Forza Horizon 5 DLC expansion.

Second Forza Horizon 5 expansion coming in “early 2023”

“Alongside all of the series updates and game fixes that we’re continuously working on, we’re hard at work building the second expansion of Forza Horizon 5,” game designer Torben Ellert said. “You can expect to see it in early 2023. We’ll have more to share after we enter the new year.”

No other details about the expansion were revealed, so we’re currently in the dark about what the new DLC will entail. With previous Forza Horizon games, the first expansion released is usually something that’s based on a new location similar to the main game (Blizzard Mountain and Fortune Island), and the second is reserved for some sort of crazy tie-in expansion (FH3 Hot Wheels and Lego Speed Champions). However, with Forza Horizon 5, we got the tie-in expansion first with Forza Horizon 5: Hot Wheels, so perhaps we’ll be getting something a bit more grounded in reality.

Forza Horizon 5 is also getting in-game ray tracing, NVIDIA DLSS, and AMD FSR support on PC with the game’s next update. Playground is adding two new settings for ray tracing quality, Ultra and Extreme. These settings “allow player car reflections to be rendered in Free Roam and Races.” The new resolution scaling features will also be found in the Video options menu.
